The Yankee Flipper really works - it keeps the squirrels away and allows the birds to eat from the feeder. I had been having squirrel problems for some time before trying the Yankee Flipper. It has been worth every penny.
Within three days of installing the Yankee Flipper, the squirrels were staying off the feeder, not eating from it and not spilling the seeds on the ground like they did with my other feeders. I have had birds the size of grackles using the Yankee Flipper with no problem.

We have a love/hate relationship with the squirrels. My husband admires how smart they are. I hate how they foil every attempt to keep them out of the bird feeders. Our yard used to be "taken over" by squirrels. Our squirrels bullied the birds, even chased them away. We used to put the more expensive foods out for the birds, but stopped when we realized the birds weren't getting any food at all! We tried every "squirrel proof" feeder on the market, but the furry little thieves ended up getting the food anyway. Now that we own the Yankee Flipper, the birds eat like kings and the squirrels only get the crumbs. Occasionally they still try to get on the feeder, but a few spins cures them overtime. Now the expensive food gets eaten by the birds, and the squirrels have moved on to more accessible feeders in our neighbors yards.

I have bought so many feeders that claimed to be "squirrel proof" it's not funny. This is the first one I've owned in 30+ years that really works. Worth every cent I paid for it. Have had it 2 years without a single malfunction of any type, and only had to recharge the battery once so far. One reviewer stated that it won't hold mourning doves, bluejays etc.
They must come XXXL in his state, because here in Connecticut I have mourning doves, cardinals, and bluejays on the feeder constantly. I only use sunflower seed in the feeder - it has never clogged and I don't find it falls out easily. I've never had a problem with rain getting in or clumping the seed. It is so effective that the squirrels seldom even try to get on it - thus the downside, we rarely get the entertainment of seeing a "thrown squirrel"!
